The Ups and Downs of Moving

Well, it’s official. I’m a Baltimorian now. We moved all day Saturday and have been trying to get our lives in order ever since. Luckily we have had the help of some friends and family along the way! Unfortunately, my camera cord was lost in the shuffle, so you will have to visualize with me the peaks and valleys of my move.

Up
Scoring a ridiculously cheap rental truck.

Down
Marginally unsafe neighborhood to pick up said truck (not actual neighborhood, but you get the picture)

Up
My mother, who had the foresight to go to the grocery store to ask if they had any leftover produce boxes for us to pack some of our “odds and ends.”

Down

We had so much crap wonderful treasures that even the boxes weren’t enough and we were stuck resorting to Hefty (PS – don’t do a Google image search for the word Hefty after you eat lunch. Not pretty.)

Up
Not having to lift a finger as the men in my life moved the furniture.

Down
Having to unpack everything.

Up
Finding new furniture on the cheap at IKEA!

Down
Putting together a dresser took 4 hours.

Up
We now live down the street from what I thought was long gone, Little Caesar’s

Up
A new neighbor left us a present on our doorstep.

Down

Two of our neighbors put their homes on the market this weekend. What, do we smell?

Up
Baltimore radio. Seriously, starting my day with “Stand Back” can’t be bad.

Down
Being on the brink of getting into two major car accidents in my hour commute this morning.

UP
Having so much fun with Geoff as we embark on this new stage of our lives together. And that certainly outweighs the “downs.”

Once I find my cord, I will go back to my regularly scheduled blogging. XOXO
