I’m Getting Old

I’m Getting Old I see it more and more every day. My gray hairs continue to multiply at an unfair rate. It’s not this bad yet, but lemme tell you, it’s coming. Found my first one when I was 14! Example #2 of my aging was on Friday night. Geoff, his brother and fiancé and I went out after dinner to a local bar in New York. There were many, many, many college aged kids home from school. Many of them were obnoxiously doing these: And smoking these: While wearing outfits fit for a jazz dance recital. Remember, time and place, and this was a hole in the wall bar. And you know what? Not to knock my college aged readers, but I wanted to call these girls’ mothers! Bad decisions! And then I realized, I was 21 once. Home on Christmas break, and glamming it up to head to Leesburg, VA’s Friday night hotspot, TGIFriday’s. Yea. All klass, all    [...]

How to Series: How to Navigate the Make-Up Counter, Part One

How to Series: How to Navigate the Make-Up Counter, Part One Ah, yes, the beloved or, in some cases, dreaded make-up counter. You know it has potential, but how?!?! And their diagrams, how can you do that at home?!?! It’s honestly not as scary as one might think – nor is it as expensive. If it couldn’t be done, where would we get the “look for less” expression? Today’s topic will focus on investing in a fabulous cover-stick. This will be your best friend. 1. It will help mellow darkness under the eyes. 2. It will serve as a base for your eye shadow to stick to. 3. It will cover those pesky little breakouts. 4. You can even use it your lips to neutralize natural lip color before applying lipstick / gloss. It is absolutely your must-have if you don’t buy one single other product. My favorite is by YSL. Touch Eclat. Pricey, but as I’ve mentioned, it’s a magic stick. You can,    [...]

Fabulous FoodBuzz Weekend Part Five

Fabulous FoodBuzz Weekend Part Five I left my heart in San Francisco. I really really did. What a weekend! I have been putting off this last post because I feel like then it will really be final Sunday morning the alarm went off at 6:30 as over drinks Saturday night I apparently decided it would be a good idea to go on a run with Kath, Tina and Shannon. Thanks Mr. Martini, thanks. Bear in mind that my hotel was about 1.5 miles from their hotel, Hotel Vitale, so I had some running to do even before I met up with them. On my way I snapped a photo that looked much cooler running by than it actually does on film, but what the hell, here it is. Those girls are some little speed demons! I ran about another mile with them, then broker off to circle back up to my hotel. All in all a good little run that allowed me to sweat out some of that booze. Take that, Mr. Martini. Whilst    [...]

If I Told You, I’d Have to Kill You

If I Told You, I’d Have to Kill You Good Morning! So, recently, some of my weekends have been less than forthcoming on my part on the blog. There is good reason for that, but, if I told you, I’d have to kill you Just kidding, but all will come in due time Good things, I promise! But I can show you some of what I did and ate this weekend! Friday I raced down to my office deli for a salad before heading home early (we think Geoff has le fever de piglet so I had to take care of him). Later that night grabbed some grub. This sounded like something Geoff would order! Blue Moon refreshment. Bowl of black bean chili. Perfect for a cold and rainy night. Saturday morning my mom met me for lunch and shopping. She thought my apartment complex looked like “a college campus with all the fallen leaves.” Of course she made me pose! Rose and I had such a good brunch last    [...]
