As I’ve mentioned before, I went to Denison University in Granville, Ohio. We were also known as the “Big Red” (not to be confused with Cornell University) and our colors were red and white.
This morning I was feeling a little nostalgic.
Red: Amish Market Strawberry Jam; White: English Muffins & Plate
Mug of Coffee:
Green Monster in Denidoo Pint Glass:
I highly doubt I was eating similar food for breakfast back in the day :)
After Food, Inc. we had a leisurely evening at home. I had a glass of some freshly steeped iced tea made by Geoff.
And made a salad for dinner.
Contents in the salad included: Spinach, Tomato, Pine Nuts, Goat Cheese, Mushrooms.
My plate before our Amish steak was added.
Small Baked Potato & Corn:
The HUGE steak from the Amish Market.
A few slices. After seeing Food, Inc. yesterday I feel MUCH better about this purchase and eating it.
And some Mint Cookie Ice Cream for dessert.
Bargain Tip of the Day: Host a swap party! Have a dress in your closet you wore to a couple of weddings and Facebook has ruined your chances of wearing it again? Have the latest Candace Bushnell that you’ve read, but are mildly embarrassed to have it take up residence on your living room bookshelf? Maybe you got a new iPod for your birthday and have a perfectly good used one that is just collecting dust. Have a party! Invite girlfriends over, set some ground rules and get to swapping. You’ll end up sharing lots of conversation and laughs all while getting a few extra pieces for your wardrobe – for FREE! For ideas on how to host a swap party:

I want to see Food Inc so bad....it is still not playing near us, but I am hoping it will be soon. Your dinner salad looks great. I have recently become hooked on goat cheese- its so yummy!
Hi! I just wanted to let you know how much I love your blog. I drop in everyday to take a peek! I live in Newark, Ohio...actually my house is about 10 minutes from Denison. Your post made me smile!! I graduated from Utica high school & I'm now a junior at Otterbein College in Westerville. If you're ever back in town we should try to get together...I'd love to have lunch with a fellow foodie!! :)
Shaylyn - That is such a small world! I used to tutor at Utica Elementary and one of my good friends younger brothers went to Utica High. Do you know the Branstools?
My younger sister will be a senior at Denison this year, so I will be back at least once in the fall and then in the spring for her graduation. I would love to get together on one of my visits!
oh my gooooooodness -- i go to Sacred Heart University in CT.. our colors are red&white and our mascot is "Big Red" .. guess we're not very unique.
Love your school pride! :)
Can't wait for your review of Food, Inc.
That London Broil looks absolutely amazing. Maybe I should make a round trip to the Amish Market!
Happiness Awaits
